Product Summary: This Japanese antique ojime bead, as a form of Japanese art done in mixed metal and inscribed by the artist. Attributed to the  Meiji period (1868-1912), attributed to the earlier part of the era, decorated in botanicals and florals in a mixed metals format.

 

Ojime beads, (meaning movable bead) originated during the Edo period from the 17th century-19th century as a functional ornament. Ojime beads were used to secure Netsuke and Inro or Sagemono cases by means of a chord.

Condition: The ojime bead with oxidation, scuffs, and wear, in line with the typical age of works found from the Edo and Meiji era's in Japanese art
